Starting the game

All players throw a die, a player with the highest score goes first. After that the game goes clockwise.

In the beginning of the game each player takes 10 tokens. The first player puts down 2 tokens anywhere on the board, and so do the rest of players when their turn comes around. This is repeated until each player places 10 tokens on the board.

Playing the game

Step 1. In the beginning of the turn a player must take 2 cards from the deck. Each player can have only up to 8 cards in his hand. If he has more cards in the hand, he has to either use it during play or discard the extra cards at the end of his turn. When there are no more cards in the deck, the cards from the discard pile are taken, reshuffled and put back into the deck.

Step 2. Player takes 2 tokens from his box and places them anywhere on the board.

Step 3. Now a player can use his cards (see rules of card use)

After playing his cards player gets to take extra tokens from his box of tokens, he can (a) place them anywhere on the board (b) or he can use them to make other players take off their tokens from the board.

End of turn. The next player’s turn begins.

Game ends:

1. when any of the players uses all of his tokens from the box.
OR
2. when all of the islands on the board are surrounded.

The points are calculated. (see calculating the score)
The person with the highest score wins.
